Generally speaking, the following restrictions apply.  However, if a project requires flight outside these regulations, we can apply for a Certificate of Waiver (CoW) or Certificate of Authorization (CoA) from the FAA.

Maximum Altitude: 400 feet.  This is more than enough for 99% of the missions that we fly.

Flight Hours: 30 minutes before sunrise to 30 minutes after sunset.  We are not permitted to fly over people unless they’re part of the operation or otherwise covered.

Certain airspace within 5 miles of airports will require Air Traffic Control permission.

AED Drone Services strictly adheres to all FAA requirements and guidelines and takes safety very seriously.  Our Pilot In Command will evaluate each operation for safety and privacy, and reserve the right to terminate a shoot if conditions warrant.

We take privacy very seriously.  Drones have received a lot of attention recently, usually for bad reasons.  We are therefore committed to preserving the privacy not just of our clients, but also of the neighborhood and community.  We will not film any area where we do not have the written permission of the property owner, nor will we send the drone anywhere where it could be considered invasive.

Basic still photos of a residence can be filmed within 60 minutes, including setup, planning the scenes and actual filming time.  Video production will take at least one hour and may require multiple visits to the site.  Turnaround time for clients is usually 2 days for photos only, 4 days for photos and videos.  Complicated shots and any post-production can add to the time.
